Once you have a few ducks in the bag, make changes to the shot cartridge size and continue with what works best for you personally.

Duck Decoys

The next item on the list is duck decoys. If price is a factor, look for a deal at your local sporting goods store. If that’s not an option, try a dozen teal decoys or follow up with a half-dozen mallard decoys. Keep in mind that you’ll also need to buy anchor weights, bait lines, and a bait bag, which adds to the baits’ cost. Worst case scenario, forgo the bait and focus more on passing opportunities. Either team up with a hunter friend who already has bait, or discuss the price of a dozen.
